A Fayetteville resident, Rene L., has won the $180,000 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) in the drawing held on February 25. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on February 27.

The winning ticket was a Quick Pick purchased at Shell Super Stop #109 located at 2001 N. Center St. in Elkins. The numbers drawn were 2, 15, 18, 27, and 32.

Rene was visiting his brother when he bought the ticket. As a regular NSJ player, he believed that this in-state draw game offered better odds of winning. Previously having won $300 from NSJ, Rene felt optimistic about another win.

Rene bought ten tickets for his brother and one for himself with hopes of making his dreams come true. "You gotta play to win," Rene remarked to lottery officials.

Initially thinking he had only won $7 upon checking his numbers the morning after the draw, Rene went back to sleep unaware of his substantial win. It wasn't until later that day that he realized he had hit the jackpot amounting to $180,000.

In disbelief yet excited, Rene woke up his brother to confirm the numbers. His brother verified online that they matched and suggested scanning it at Shell Super Stop for further confirmation. The store clerk advised him to go to Little Rock to collect his winnings.

Accompanied by his brother and nephew, an elated Rene visited the ASL Claim Center with plans to purchase a trailer using part of his winnings.

Tonight's NSJ jackpot stands at $60,000. Tickets are available through licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and retailer apps via ASL’s Play on the Go partners.
