Arkansas Access to Justice Commission recently issued the following announcement.
AATJ is excited to be hosting this free CLE on April 1, 2022 from 12 - 1 pm. Although this online event is free, registration is required. You can register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/.../reg.../WN_4AMNoDT_SsCG_jSWOzERgg
The primary purpose of this CLE is to help prepare attorneys to take pro-bono cases in a relevant practice area. However, it is also for general education purposes and is open to the public.
Expect to learn about the following:
1. Why defending a deficiency action is important.
2. A creditor's rights to deficiency.
3. What happens when an underlying debt is extinguished.
4. When a creditor's actions may preclude a deficiency.
5. Defective disposition as defense to deficiency action.
6. The applicable statute of limitations.
7. Procedural defenses, notice requirements, and elements of creditors claims.
