Leon Jones Jr., a local leader in the state of Arkansas, is running for Attorney General of the state, confident that he has the skills necessary to represent his home state after serving for a number of years in other governmental bodies.
Jones recently stepped down from the Fair Housing Commission, where he was executive director, declaring that he would be running for the position of Attorney General for the GOP party in 2022.
"I am the right choice right now and as people may have seen in my video, I am a seventh generation Arkansan. I am a proven leader in the state. I've run two state agencies, I've worked for two Republican governors," Jones said.
Jones has also worked in a number of administrations, including the Hutchinson and Huckabee administrations, giving him much of the necessary experience to thrive in such a demanding and integral role.
Jones graduated from Pine Bluff High School and earned his B.A. in English from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville in 2006.
According to KATV, Jones formally announced his candidacy for the position on April 6.
