The City of Little Rock recently announced that Maxime Pierre, the city’s deputy director of Parks and Recreation, made the National Recreation and Parks Association’s 30 Under 30 list.

“I’m not surprised that Maxime has been chosen for this honor,” John Eckart, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Little Rock, said. “When we were searching for a deputy director, his innovative ideas stood out. We’re so proud to have him as part of the team and look forward to the impact he’s sure to make on our city.”

The criteria followed by the association’s selection committee included: Impacts on the agency’s community and service population, contributions to the professional development of the field of parks and recreation, and innovative ideas, programs and/or research in the field of parks and recreation.

Candidates for the honor were selected from 100 nominations from 29 states, one Canadian province and one U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.
