Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge is disappointed in the United States Supreme Court's denial of a challenge from Texas of the presidential election result.
“Our voices matter when it comes to President Trump and in this case, as in every case, we must follow the rule of law. I will always fight for election integrity,” Rutledge said.
Rutledge signed onto the lawsuit with 18 other states.
“I am disappointed by the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to deny the Texas case. I joined this fight to protect Arkansans’ votes and I believe no other states should dilute the voters of Arkansas,” Rutledge said.
Trump has alleged voter irregularities. However, Attorney General Wiliam Barr, who announced his registration as the Electoral College voted for Joe Biden, has said the Department of Justice found no widespread evidence of voter fraud.
Last week Rutledge came out in support of the lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
The U.S. Supreme Court Friday evening decided not to hear that case.
