Several Arkansas lottery players won significant prizes in recent drawings, though many tickets remain unclaimed. A Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) ticket worth $550,000 was sold at Hugs and Biscuits in Hackett for the November 4 drawing. The winning numbers were 10, 17, 18, 26, and 27. As a result of this win, the NSJ jackpot has reset to $50,000 for the next drawing.
A Mega Millions ticket valued at $40,000 was purchased at Motor & Fuel LLC in Hot Springs Village. The winning numbers for that draw were 11, 14, 17, 50, and 57 with a Mega Ball number of 6. In addition to these major wins, six other Mega Millions tickets worth at least $600 each were bought in Fort Smith, West Memphis, Russellville, Paragould and Stuttgart.
These NSJ and Mega Millions prizes have not yet been claimed. Winners have up to 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their winnings.
The upcoming Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $843 million for Friday night’s drawing.
Separately, Saline County resident Jose I. won $50,000 with a $20 instant ticket called “$50,000 Frenzy,” which he purchased at Casey’s #4679 in Conway. He claimed his prize on October 31 at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center.
Jose described how he chose his ticket: “Give me that one,” he told the clerk after noticing its bright red design. A regular lottery player who typically only scans his tickets’ barcodes without scratching them fully said he did not realize immediately how much he had won: “I knew it was big, but I didn’t know how much I’d won,” Jose told lottery officials.
After learning about his win, Jose shared the news with his parents and began planning a vacation; he also plans to continue playing lottery games. There are still twenty-two top prizes remaining on the “$50,000 Frenzy” game.
Since its inception in 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has generated over $8 billion in sales and contributed more than $1.5 billion toward scholarships benefiting students across Arkansas. Over 822,000 college scholarships have been awarded through this program by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. Additionally, more than $5.5 billion has been paid out as prizes to players while retailers have earned over $462 million in commissions; state and federal tax revenue from lottery operations exceeds $188 million.
