Two Arkansas residents have claimed significant lottery prizes over the weekend. Natalie M. from Pope County won $150,000 in the June 14 Powerball drawing. She collected her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on June 16. Her winning ticket was purchased at Tobacco Town Russellville, located at 115 E. Parkway Drive in Russellville. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 9, 23, and 59 with a Powerball number of 25 and a Power Play multiplier of 3.
Natalie bought the ticket as part of her regular routine with her husband. “Somebody’s going to win,” said her husband. “Why can’t it be us?” After matching four out of five numbers plus the Powerball number, their prize was initially $50,000 but tripled to $150,000 due to the Power Play option.
“We’re still trying to process,” Natalie said to lottery officials after their win. The couple shared the news with their parents during a Father’s Day visit.
The upcoming Saturday’s Powerball jackpot stands at $118 million.
In Washington County, S. Ortiz won $50,000 playing the instant game $50,000 Frenzy and claimed her prize on June 16 as well. Her ticket was bought at Casey’s General Store #3237 in Springdale.
Ortiz described herself as a casual player who bought the ticket on a whim last Friday. “I wanted to have some luck!” she expressed upon winning.
She plans to use her winnings to assist her parents and continue playing lottery games.
