The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced on March 19 that two Arkansas residents have won significant prizes from the recently launched “X” scratch-off ticket family, and a $25,000 LOTTO prize remains unclaimed from the March 18 drawing.

These wins highlight the ongoing popularity of lottery games in the state and their impact on local communities. The lottery also continues to contribute funds for scholarships benefiting Arkansas students.

James R. of Phillips County claimed a $500,000 top prize after purchasing a 200X instant game ticket at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 27 in West Helena. “Something just told me to buy a couple of tickets,” James said to lottery officials. After scratching and scanning his ticket with the official AR Lottery + Club app, he discovered his win. “It was so unbelievable,” he said. James plans to use his winnings to renovate his home. Three $500,000 top prizes remain on the 200X game.

K. Houston of Mena won $100,000 playing the 50X instant game after buying her ticket at Racehorse in Glenwood. Houston said she usually prefers other scratch-off games but selected the 50X ticket at random this time. “It still doesn’t feel real,” she told lottery officials. She shared her news with her family and intends to help her father buy a new home with her winnings. Two $100,000 top prizes remain on the 50X game.

In addition to these scratch-off wins, a winning LOTTO ticket worth $25,000 was ordered via Lotto.com for the March 18 drawing using numbers 13, 20, 22, 32, 33 and 37 with Bonus Number 9. The winner matched five out of six numbers plus the Bonus Number but has not yet claimed their prize; they have up to 180 days from the draw date to do so.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery reports that since its inception in 2009 it has sold over $8 billion in tickets and returned more than $1.6 billion for scholarships awarded by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. As of Feb. 28, more than $5.7 billion in prizes have been paid out to players.
