Two Arkansas residents have each won $50,000 after purchasing $50,000 Stacked instant lottery tickets in separate locations. Jeffery S. of Lewisville claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on February 20. He bought the ticket at Smoker Friendly #1154 in Hope on Valentine’s Day while out picking up dinner for his wife, who was unwell.
Jeffery recounted to lottery officials that he and his wife scratched their tickets together: “Whether it’s $50 or $100, that’s a good day,” he said. Upon discovering the $50,000 win, Jeffery expressed disbelief: “There’s no way. I’ve never won anything like this in my life!” His wife added, “We’re still in shock. This will go far for our retirement.”
Evan R., a resident of Saline County, also won $50,000 playing the same game. He purchased his winning ticket at Hebron of AR in North Little Rock and claimed his prize on February 20. As a first-time player, Evan followed his mother’s advice to try the lottery. He scratched off the ticket after arriving at work and was surprised by the top prize: “This can’t be real!” Evan told lottery officials that he completed his workday as usual but kept thinking about the win. He shared the news with his mother who responded, “I told you so!” Evan plans to use the winnings for home improvements and intends to play responsibly.
According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL), there are still 68 top prizes remaining for $50,000 Stacked instant tickets. Since its start in 2009, ASL has sold over $8 billion in tickets and returned more than $1.5 billion for scholarships benefiting Arkansas students through over 822,000 awards distributed by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
