Asia Thomas won the Collegiate 200-meter race at the Mt. SAC Relays with a career-best time of 23.33 seconds, according to an April 17 announcement from the Razorbacks. Josphine Mwaura set a new personal record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:58.71 and finished seventh at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

These results highlight strong performances by Arkansas athletes in major track and field competitions this week.

Mwaura’s new mark moves her to No. 8 on the University of Arkansas all-time list for the event, improving upon her previous best of 34:11.33 set last year. In her victory, Thomas competed against a -2.0 head wind and finished ahead of Aji Mbye from San Diego State (23.60) and Rachel Joseph from Iowa State (23.75).

Arkansas also secured a win in the women’s 4 x 400-meter relay at Hilmer Lodge Stadium with Abigail Campbell, Amirah Sharpe (1:45.50), Rae-Anne Serville (54.38), and Arianna Sharpe (53.25). Their combined time was 3:33.12—almost six seconds faster than second-place UC Irvine’s time of 3:39.01.

In other events, Rae-Anne Serville ran a time of 58.21 as runner-up in her section of the collegiate division’s 400-meter hurdles and placed fourth overall.

Freshman Ryan Jennings claimed victories in both her sections for the sprints—clocking times of 11.74 seconds for the women’s collegiate 100 meters and 24.15 seconds for the collegiate women’s 200 meters.
