LITTLE ROCK – Attorney General Tim Griffin released the following statement announcing that Deputy Attorney General Tammera Harrelson will lead the Medicaid and Disability Fraud Division:
“Tammy Harrelson is the perfect choice to lead our Medicaid and Disability Fraud Division. She brings years of experience fighting Medicaid fraud back to the Attorney General’s Office from the Arkansas Office of Medicaid Inspector General. Tammy’s experience as a prosecutor and handling Medicaid fraud cases will strengthen our Division and help protect the elderly from abuse and taxpayers from fraudsters.”
Harrelson is from Morrilton and has 33 years of legal experience. Harrelson received her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Hendrix College in Conway and received her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. She previously served as Senior Assistant Attorney General from 2016-2018, where she was responsible for criminal and civil prosecutions of providers committing Medicaid fraud. She subsequently served as Chief Counsel for the Arkansas Office of Medicaid Inspector General, where she was responsible for providing legal counsel and representing the agency in legal proceedings.
