Soldiers with the 77th TAB conducted a “blank fire validation” for the new aerial gunnery range at Camp Robinson. Described as an “aerial EST,” the blank fire allows air crews to simulate a course of fire. The exercise also develops an understanding with range control and other entities on the timing of each iteration of fire between firing points, and as to reloading and changing weapons.
The 77th TAB is planning to conduct a live fire aerial gunnery range in January of 2023.
