We have some exceptional Guardsmen of Hispanic heritage who have helped us grow our State Partnership Program with our Guatemalan military counterparts the past couple of years. These Guardsmen have used their command of Spanish to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English during our exchanges with the Guatemalan military. Additionally, they leveraged their cultural knowledge and unique individual backgrounds to create environments of trust and cultural learning between the Arkansas National Guard and the Guatemalan military.
