Arkansas Access to Justice Commission recently issued the following announcement.
During this 1 hour presentation, Sarah Cowan of Center for Arkansas Legal Services will discuss barriers created by a variety of civil legal issues faced by Arkansans with substance use disorders. About the Presenters:
Sarah Cowan is the Staff Attorney for Beyond Opioids: Breaking Barriers for Families in Recovery at the Center for Arkansas Legal Services (CALS). Before joining CALS, she worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Sixth Judicial District of Arkansas for more than six years, handling violent, property, drug, and juvenile cases. Sarah is an honor graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, where she co-founded and served as Communications Editor of the Arkansas Journal of Social Change and Public Service and was Associate Notes Editor of the UALR Law Review. She graduated cum laude with degrees in Business Administration and English from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Sarah is a member of the board of directors of the Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP), and in her free time, she enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
