ARKANSAS NORTHEASTERN COLLEGE: Arkansas Community Colleges Annual Conference

Awards

Arkansas Northeastern College issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.

Arkansas Northeastern College recently participated in the Arkansas Community Colleges Annual Conference where several awards were presented.

ANC honored its 2021 Outstanding Faculty and Staff members on Monday, October 11th, with a drop-in reception. Brenda Holifield, Dean for Allied Health, represented ANC as its Outstanding Staff member, and Dustin Kemper, Associate Professor of History, and Matt Frias, Instructor in Welding, were named as ANC's Outstanding Faculty members.

Then, on Tuesday, October 12th, a luncheon was held in the Governors Ballroom in honor of ANC's 2021 Academic All-Star student Heavenly Hopper and Outstanding Alumna Dr. LeAnn Helms.

Heavenly Hopper of Osceola holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average and plans to continue her studies and one day be a math teacher.

Dr. LeAnn Ferrell Helms, Principal of Manila High School, earned her A.A. Degree from ANC in 2003 before earning her BSE, M.Ed, Ed.S., and Ed. D. Dr. Helms was first a teacher and has been a principal for 10 years. She resides in West Ridge with her husband Dann (also an ANC graduate) and their 13-year-old daughter Chloe.

Both Hopper and Helms were joined by friends and family as they received their awards. ACC
