Arkansas Auditor of State issued the following announcement on July 12.
The Trail of Tears runs through Arkansas and provides us an opportunity to remember and commemorate the survival of the Cherokee people, removed from their land in the southeast United States and relocated to Oklahoma. They traveled by foot, horse, wagon, and steamboat to get to their destination, many through Arkansas. (https://www.nps.gov/trte/index.htm)
