Arkansas Access to Justice Commission recently issued the following announcement.
During this 1.5 hour presentation, Lynn Pence and Riley Cauley of Center for Arkansas Legal Services will discuss domestic violence, divorce, and compassionate representation. This presentation is designed for lawyers interested in representing clients in family law cases, but is also open to law students, social workers, paralegals, and the general public. About the Presenters:
Lynn Pence is a native Arkansawyer, born and educated through college in Fayetteville. She is a graduate of William H. Bowen School of Law (although, it had a different name back then). Lynn has 31 years of experience with legal services, as both a managing attorney and staff attorney. Her practice has an emphasis on representing parents and families affected by domestic violence. She also has extensive experience representing parents in dependency/neglect proceedings, mostly in Central Arkansas.
Riley Cauley received his Bachelors of Science in political science and history with a minor in business from the University of Central Arkansas. He received his Juris Doctor from William H. Bowen School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While he was in law school, he worked as a law clerk at the Center for Arkansas Legal Services. Additionally, he is fully licensed to practice law in all Arkansas state courts.
Riley advanced from law clerk to staff attorney at Center for Arkansas Legal Services. During his career as a staff attorney at the CALS, Riley has exclusively practiced family law. Due to his interactions with family law cases, the high volume of cases that he deals with every year, and the ever-expanding needs of clients from one issue to the next, Riley has a vast array of experience with unique legal issues and fact patterns. In addition, he works with low-income individuals, which can present new challenges and obstacles that are often uncommon in private practice. These interactions present a perspective and insight into clients and cases that many attorneys may not have experienced.
