Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson recently announced that the last week of January will be recognized as Arkansas School Choice Week for the sixth year in a row, according to PR Newswire.
School Choice Week advocates for effective education opportunities for every child in Arkansas and encourages parents to identify the best learning options for their children. Arkansas parents, schools and other organizers are preparing 462 activities for the week to honor school choices and discuss learning opportunities to help children succeed.
"Celebrating school choice means celebrating children, families and teachers—and the way that educational opportunities positively impact each of them," Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week, said. "During this challenging school year, we're grateful to Gov. Hutchinson for supporting Arkansas families in celebrating educational opportunity."
School Choice Week is a national celebration with over a dozen governors and hundreds of county, city and town leaders, having officially recognized Jan. 24-30 as School Choice Week. More than 33,000 virtual celebrations across the nation have been planned for School Choice Week to raise awareness about choices in K-12 education.
