In response to protesters at the the nation's capitol in Washington, D.C., today, U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said any form of violence is unacceptable.
“This violence is unacceptable and needs to be met with the full force of the law,” Cotton said in a tweet.
Cotton relased the statement after pro-Trump demonstrators stormed the Capitol building.
As of this writing, several GOP lawmakers who previously said they would challenge the Electoral College vote, have decided withdraw any objection.
President Donald Trump also cautioned supporters to remain calm.
Former Attorney General Willam Barr previously said no voter fraud was criminally actionable. Still, some avid Trump supporters have held onto resentment surrounding the election.
One woman was shot to death in today’s incident.
