U.S. Senator John Boozman was presented with the 2026 Statesmanship Award by the Former Members of Congress Association during a ceremony at the Library of Congress on April 24. The award recognizes Boozman’s commitment to solutions-based governing, civil discourse, and prioritizing constituent needs.
The recognition highlights efforts to promote bipartisanship and effective lawmaking in Congress. The event included a panel discussion featuring Boozman and other recipients who spoke about bipartisan policy achievements and experiences shaping their legislative work.
“It is an honor to be recognized by former colleagues and friends for the work my office has consistently done to support veterans, our rural communities, national interests and beyond,” said Boozman. “Bipartisanship is a hallmark of the Senate and leads to policies that can stand the test of time, which is why I make it a point to seek common ground and craft solutions with significant input from both sides of the aisle. I deeply appreciate having that approach celebrated by FMC and joining the list of incredible legislators it has acknowledged over many years.”
FMC CEO Pete Weichlein said, “FMC was honored to recognize Senator Boozman alongside Senator Warnock as our 2026 Senate Statesmanship Award Honorees. From his exceptional work on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, to his dedication to our country’s veterans, to his service as Co-Chair on our Congressional Study Group on Europe, Senator Boozman has demonstrated a consistent ability to reach across the aisle and find common sense solutions throughout his decades in public office. We applaud his devotion to the people of Arkansas and America, and look forward to seeing his continued leadership in the Senate for years to come.”
The Former Members of Congress Association consists of former members dedicated to encouraging bipartisanship in government. In addition to honoring Senators Boozman and Raphael Warnock this year, Representatives Bill Huizenga (MI-02) and Gregory Meeks (NY-05) were also recognized. The organization supports programs such as legislative exchanges abroad through Congressional Study Groups; events bringing together staff from both parties; Congress-to-Campus initiatives; all designed at no cost to taxpayers.
