A set of three bipartisan bills aimed at supporting veterans and their families has passed the U.S. Senate, with key backing from Senator John Boozman (R-AR), a senior member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

The legislative package addresses issues including protection of benefits for servicemembers and veterans who are victims of fraud, adjustment of compensation to match inflation, and ensuring accurate religious representation on headstones for servicemembers buried overseas. One of the measures, the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2025, has already been signed into law by President Trump after passing both chambers.

“Our veterans have made immense sacrifices for our country, and passing these bipartisan, commonsense initiatives is critical to ensuring we are fulfilling the promises made to them,” said Boozman. “I’m pleased the veterans’ cost-of-living adjustment was signed into law so servicemembers and their survivors’ compensation keeps pace with inflation, and I also encourage the House to approve the fraud reimbursement and religious heritage measures that prioritize access to benefits and promote dignity for those who have served.”

In March, Senator Boozman joined Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) in introducing the Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act. The bill aims to speed up access to benefits for former servicemembers affected by fraud by reducing bureaucratic delays during VA investigations.

Senator Boozman also supported legislation designed to ensure disability compensation rates keep up with inflation through the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2025. Additionally, he backed a separate measure—the Fallen Servicemembers Religious Heritage Restoration Act—to guarantee that Jewish-American servicemembers’ headstones reflect their correct religious affiliation.

All three bills passed unanimously in the Senate. The Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act and Fallen Servicemembers Religious Heritage Restoration Act now await consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives.
