U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) and Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who also serve as co-chairs of the Senate 4-H Caucus, have led a Senate resolution to recognize National 4-H Week. The resolution, which passed in the Senate, designates October 5-11, 2025, as National 4-H Week.
Boozman emphasized the impact of 4-H on youth, stating, “4-H plays a vital role in preparing young people for the future. I’ve seen its impact on my three daughters, who discovered new interests and talents as active members. I’m proud to support this organization and look forward to continuing to celebrate its mission of shaping the next generation of leaders.”
Klobuchar highlighted the reach of 4-H in her state and nationwide. “Minnesota 4-H is preparing over 40,000 young Minnesotans to lead in their communities,” she said. “I am glad to partner with Senator Boozman to recognize the work of 4-H by designating this week as National 4-H Week. As co-chair of the 4-H Caucus, I will continue working with my colleagues to support opportunities for youth engaged in agriculture.”
4-H operates as a youth development program through the Cooperative Extension System of land-grant universities and is recognized as the largest youth development organization in the United States. The program provides hands-on learning experiences in areas such as health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement to nearly six million young people each year, including approximately 130,000 participants in Arkansas and 40,000 in Minnesota.
