A Pulaski County resident, Robert W., has claimed a $50,000 prize after playing the $50,000 Frenzy instant game. He collected his winnings at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on October 1.

Robert bought his ticket at Kum & Go #150 in Sherwood while on his lunch break. He had originally planned to eat at a grocery store but decided instead to stop at the gas station for chips, fuel, and an instant lottery ticket. After taking a break from playing, he chose to try the $50,000 Frenzy game again.

“I thought my odds were better with this one,” Robert told lottery officials when comparing the game to others.

After scratching off his ticket at work and discovering he had won a top prize of $50,000, Robert said he was shocked. “Oh my gosh! That’s crazy.”

He later checked the ASL website and learned that $50,000 Frenzy started with 84 top prizes of $50,000 each. With his win, 26 top prizes remain available for this game.

Robert has not yet shared news of his win with anyone but plans to tell his wife soon. He also stated that he will continue participating in lottery games and appreciates that proceeds help fund scholarships for Arkansas students.

Since its start in 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has sold over $8 billion in tickets and provided more than $1.5 billion for student scholarships across the state. Over 822,000 college scholarships have been awarded through funds distributed by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The lottery reports awarding more than $5.5 billion in player prizes and generating over $459 million in retailer commissions as well as more than $188 million in tax revenue.
