Luck played a role in the recent lottery wins of two Arkansas residents. C. Childs from Pulaski County won $75,000 with a $3 instant game called 10X Cashword. He purchased the ticket at Murphy USA 7102, located at 23800 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock, and claimed his prize on June 2 at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center.

Childs bought the winning ticket while running errands and decided to enter the convenience store on a whim. “I play whatever I feel,” he said to lottery officials. His intuition led him to win the top prize on this crossword-inspired scratch-off ticket. So far, Childs has only shared his good fortune with his wife and plans to save his winnings.

In another instance of good fortune, Rhonda H., a resident of Lepanto, claimed a $50,000 prize after playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 instant game. She purchased her winning ticket at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 39 in Lepanto on May 30.

Rhonda was returning home from visiting her grandchildren when she stopped by the convenience store. She bought two scratch-off games; one was unsuccessful but the other resulted in her winning the top prize of $50,000. “My eyes just got real big,” she told lottery officials upon realizing her win.

Rhonda shared her excitement with her children immediately after discovering her win and plans to use her winnings for home renovations and a vacation.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery reports that one top prize remains for 10X Cashword and forty-eight remain for $50,000 Frenzy.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has been operating since 2009 and has generated over $7.9 billion in sales while contributing more than $1.4 billion towards scholarships for Arkansas students.
