A Pulaski County resident has claimed a significant lottery prize after an unexpected detour led him to purchase a winning ticket. Danny W., the fortunate winner, secured $100,000 by playing Jewel 7s, a $5 instant game offered by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL). He collected his prize at the ASL Claim Center on May 12.
The ticket was bought at Jordan’s Kwik Stop #79 located at 2620 W. Main in Clarksville. Danny made the purchase during his usual drive home when he decided to stop at a gas station. Inside, the Jewel 7s ticket caught his attention.
“Hey, I think I’ll play that one—lucky number seven!” Danny thought.
Upon returning home, Danny scratched off the ticket and discovered he had won one of the top prizes of $100,000. Initially skeptical about his win, he said, “I kept thinking I didn’t do it right,” adding that he had to adjust his glasses for confirmation.
To verify his win, Danny visited a local lottery retailer where the scanner confirmed that he needed to visit the ASL Claim Center for his prize. The store clerk was visibly surprised by this revelation. “He just got wide-eyed,” Danny recalled.
Danny has not yet shared news of his windfall with others and is undecided about how to use his winnings. However, he plans to continue participating in lottery games.
Currently, one more top prize worth $100,000 remains available in the Jewel 7s instant game.
