Pulaski County resident C. Williams and Darryl S. of Ouachita County each won $50,000 after playing the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery’s new scratch-off game, $50,000 Stacked. The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) introduced this ticket family earlier in the week, with several players already claiming top prizes.

Williams bought his winning ticket at OK Mart in Jacksonville and claimed his prize on January 8 at the ASL Claim Center. He told lottery officials, “I like trying the new tickets when they come out.” Williams explained that he scratched off his ticket before work and was surprised by the result: “I didn’t think anything of it. I thought it would be $100 or $500, maybe. Then I scratched the first row and saw $10,000.” After revealing two more $20,000 prizes on the same ticket, Williams’ total winnings reached $50,000. He plans to save most of his prize money and purchase a new vehicle.

Darryl S., who purchased his ticket at Karmic Fuel 9 LLC in Camden, also claimed a $50,000 prize on January 9. He described his win as unexpected: “I was just looking to pass the time,” he said to lottery officials. “The win was just a stroke of luck.” Darryl discovered his prize while still at the gas station and shared the news with his wife; they plan to save their winnings.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, seventy-eight top prizes of $50,000 remain for the $50,000 Stacked game. Four other scratch-off games—$100 Stacked, $200 Stacked, $500 Stacked and $10,000 Stacked—were launched alongside this new series. Players from Leachville, Searcy and Newport have already claimed top prizes from the $10,000 Stacked game.

Since its inception in 2009, ASL has sold over $8 billion in tickets and contributed more than $1.5 billion toward scholarships for Arkansas students through awards distributed by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. Over 822,000 college scholarships have been provided statewide. The lottery has also awarded more than $5.6 billion in player prizes and generated over $467 million in retailer commissions as well as more than $190 million in state and federal tax revenue.
