A Powerball ticket sold in Arkansas has won the $250.8 million jackpot from the March 2 drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 17, 18, 38, and 62, with a Powerball number of 20 and a Power Play multiplier of 2.
The winner can choose between an annuitized prize of $250.8 million or a one-time cash payment of $118 million, both before taxes. State tax will withhold 3.9% and federal tax will withhold 24%.
“We couldn’t be more excited that another jackpot-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Arkansas,” said Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Executive Director Sharon Strong. “We’re always happy to see another player land a life-changing prize, knowing that retailers, students and Arkansans as a whole will benefit from the win.”
Lottery proceeds in Arkansas support student scholarships throughout the state.
According to state policy, the winner has up to 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. Information about claiming the ticket is available at MyArkansasLottery.com. Winners may remain anonymous for up to three years unless they are elected officials or close relatives of elected officials.
Officials stated that further details would be provided as they become available.
The ASL reminds players that attempting to claim lottery winnings fraudulently is considered a Class D felony in Arkansas. They caution against submitting fake tickets in an attempt to collect the jackpot.
Following this win, the Powerball jackpot resets to $20 million.
