The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $643 million for Wednesday night’s drawing, making it the largest prize offered by the game in over a year. This current jackpot exceeds the last eleven grand prizes, each of which was under $600 million.

Powerball is played across multiple states, with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Tickets are priced at $2 per play and must be purchased by 8:59 p.m. on the day of the drawing.

Players win the jackpot by matching all six numbers drawn—five white balls and one Powerball. There are also several other prize tiers for those who match fewer numbers, including a prize for matching only the Powerball number. In recent years, five Arkansas residents have claimed non-jackpot prizes of $1 million or more.

An optional Power Play feature is available for an additional $1 per ticket. This multiplier can increase non-jackpot winnings by up to ten times their original value. Players who match five white balls without the Powerball number can win as much as $2 million if they add Power Play.

Tickets can be bought at licensed retailers throughout Arkansas or through retailer apps that partner with ASL’s Play on the Go program. More details about these options are available on the Where To Play page of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery website.

Additional information about Powerball and other games can be found at MyArkansasLottery.com.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL), since its inception in 2009, it has sold over $8 billion in tickets and contributed more than $1.5 billion toward scholarships for students in Arkansas. Over 822,000 college scholarships have been awarded through funds distributed by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The lottery has also paid out more than $5.5 billion in prizes to players and generated over $456 million in commissions for retailers as well as more than $187 million in state and federal tax revenue.

The Office of the Arkansas Lottery notes that while every effort is made to ensure accuracy across its digital platforms, final validation of winning numbers and jackpots occurs through its central gaming system and confirmation from its Executive Director before any prizes are paid out.
