Piggott School District released its daily announcements on May 8, highlighting upcoming meetings, sign-ups, and important deadlines for students.

The announcements inform students about various activities and opportunities available in the school. Students in grades seven through nine are reminded of a pace meeting during advisory. Art I and Advanced Art students interested in taking advanced art classes next year are asked to see Mrs. Tate for a form.

Tennis sign-ups are now open on Coach Dodd’s door (Room 210) for those entering grades nine through twelve. The Spring Athletic Banquet is scheduled for May 11 at 5:30 PM in the New Gym. Students who participated in boys’ and girls’ basketball, baseball, softball, track, or cheerleading are encouraged to attend.

Seventh through tenth graders will take the Science portion of the Atlas test on Monday, May 11. Students should report to their first-hour class before being dismissed to their testing rooms at 8:20 AM. Ninth through eleventh graders interested in concurrent college classes who have not previously enrolled should see Mrs. Amber for a referral form.

Students who took the PreACT can pick up their score reports from Mrs. Amber’s office between classes or during advisory periods. Mrs. Amber will also be meeting with students about next year’s schedules over the coming weeks and encourages prompt return of registration forms.

Community service opportunities include volunteering at Little League concession stands by contacting Ms. Elisha Brown via email or helping with the Summer Feeding Program by signing up with Mrs. Amber.

The deadline to register for the June 13 ACT is May 8. The week’s lunch menu includes options such as cheeseburgers, boneless chicken wings, spicy chicken sandwiches, crispitos, pizza boli bites, and BBQ grilled chicken sandwiches.
