The Piggott School District released its daily announcements on April 27, highlighting upcoming events, important deadlines, and reminders for students.

The announcements are relevant to students across all grades and include details about academic schedules, scholarship opportunities, and community service options. The information aims to keep students informed about activities and requirements as the school year progresses.

Classes will return to their normal schedule on Monday. The Food Cart Fest is scheduled for Friday in the library from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering a variety of snacks with prices ranging from $1 to $4. Menu items include pie by the slice, cheesecake, cookies inspired by Crumbl Cookies, loaded baked potatoes, kebabs, s’mores, lemonade, and loaded Alanis. Proceeds will support Marketing students.

Students in grades nine through eleven who wish to take concurrent college classes but have not done so before are advised to see Mrs. Amber for referral forms. Ninth and tenth graders who took the PreACT can pick up their score reports from Mrs. Amber’s office between classes or during advisory periods.

Mrs. Amber has started meeting with students regarding next year’s schedules and encourages prompt return of registration forms. Students seeking community service hours may volunteer at Little League concession stands or help with the Summer Feeding Program; interested individuals should contact Ms. Elisha Brown or sign up with Mrs. Amber.

Additional reminders include ACT registration deadlines (June test registration closes May 8), proper use of cell phones on buses in the afternoon (only after boarding), after-school pickup procedures (main parking lot only), classroom visitation protocols (knock before entering if permitted), checking report card views in HAC systems (change view from two to four), and lunch menus for each day of the week.

For seniors specifically: they are reminded to fill out final transcript request forms sent via email; apply for scholarships such as SAMS at sams.adhe.edu (which includes Arkansas Challenge Scholarship); complete FAFSA applications at studentaid.gov if planning on attending college; submit applications for local scholarships including Clay County Farm Bureau Scholarship (deadline May 1), Kevin Jones Memorial Scholarship, Clay Conservation Scholarship (deadline May 1), Holly Mauldin Alonzo New Beginnings Scholarship (deadline midnight May 1); and inquire about AASSP Scholarship supporting children of AAEA members pursuing education degrees.
