The Piggott School District announced on May 13 several updates for students and staff, including changes to ACT testing locations, extracurricular sign-ups, and upcoming deadlines.

The information is important for students who need to adjust their plans due to the cancellation of the June ACT at the Piggott location. Students have been notified by email from ACT with further details. The announcement also provides reminders about academic and extracurricular opportunities as the school year comes to a close.

Students interested in joining band next year are encouraged to speak with Mr. Allman during advisory, even if they have previously expressed interest. FBLA will be selling snow cones for $1 on Thursday, and members in grades 9-11 who want to become officers should contact Mrs. Peters by email or in person by Thursday’s end.

Art I or Advanced Art students wishing to take advanced art classes next year should see Mrs. Tate for a form. Tennis sign-ups are available on Coach Dodd’s door (Room 210) for those entering grades 9-12 next year.

Several registration deadlines are approaching: concurrent registration forms for VA ATU must be submitted by May 22, while colored schedule registration forms given out by Mrs. Amber are due before the end of the school year. Ninth through eleventh graders interested in taking a concurrent college class who have not done so before need a referral form from Mrs. Amber.

Opportunities for community service hours include volunteering at Little League game concession stands—students can contact Ms. Elisha Brown via email—and helping with the Summer Feeding Program through sign-up with Mrs. Amber.

Lunch menus were also provided for each day of the week, listing options such as chicken sandwiches, pizza varieties, meatball subs, quesadillas, BBQ sandwiches, and cook’s choice items.
