The Piggott School District released its daily announcements on April 15, detailing upcoming student meetings, scholarship opportunities, and important dates for students.

The announcement outlines key information for students in various grades about academic, extracurricular, and scholarship activities as the school year progresses.

According to the district’s statement, a golf meeting will be held during advisory in the Middle Gym for interested boys and girls. The junior class is scheduled to work on prom preparations after school. Senior High FBLA members eligible to attend Six Flags must return their permission slips and any owed money by Friday; tickets will be ordered after school that day with no exceptions. A meeting for students in grades seven through nine is set for Thursday during advisory.

Yearbook orders are due by Thursday, April 23rd. Students can order online or obtain a form from the office to submit to Mrs. Huckabay. Mrs. Amber has begun meeting with students regarding schedules for next year and requests prompt return of registration forms. Juniors and seniors planning to bring out-of-school dates or underclassmen guests to prom must purchase tickets from Mrs. Huckabay by Wednesday.

Additional reminders include bus riders waiting until boarding before using cell phones in the afternoon and observing proper procedures when visiting other classrooms during class time. Students are also reminded that after-school pickup should occur only in the main parking lot out of respect for neighboring businesses.

A blood drive is scheduled for April 17th with Red Cross offering a $15 e-gift card incentive; donors must be at least 16 years old with permission forms required only for those under 17.

Several scholarships are available through Mrs. Amber’s office or online platforms, including local awards such as the Clay County Farm Bureau Scholarship (deadline May 1), Gaylon Lawrence Memorial Scholarship (deadline April 23), NEA Wounded Warrior Group Scholarship (deadline April 17), Frankie Faulk Memorial Scholarship (priority given to VoTech/Trade applicants; deadline April 23), Regina Crittenden Memorial Scholarship (for education majors; deadline April 18), Holly Mauldin Alonzo New Beginnings Scholarship (deadline May 1) among others detailed in the announcement.
