The Piggott School District announced on April 16 a range of upcoming events, academic opportunities, and important deadlines for students. The announcement includes reminders about permission slips, community service options, prom requirements, scholarship applications, and meal schedules.

These updates are important for students to stay informed about school activities and ensure they meet necessary requirements for participation in events or eligibility for scholarships.

Senior High FBLA members eligible to attend Six Flags must return their permission slips and any owed money by Friday. No exceptions will be made as tickets will be ordered after school that day. Ninth through eleventh graders interested in taking concurrent college classes next year are invited to meet in the library during advisory if they are not currently enrolled in such courses. Students seeking community service hours can volunteer at Little League games by contacting Ms. Elisha Brown via email.

Prom attendees must pay dues by Friday, April 17, to participate. Juniors and seniors wishing to bring an out-of-school date need to pick up a permission form from the office. Additional reminders include appropriate cell phone use on buses and after-school pickup procedures requiring students to use the main parking lot rather than neighboring business lots.

A blood drive is scheduled for April 17 with Red Cross offering a $15 e-gift card incentive; donors must be at least 16 years old with those under 17 needing parental permission forms available from Mrs. Amber’s office.

Multiple scholarship opportunities are listed with varying deadlines throughout April and early May, including local scholarships emailed directly to seniors’ accounts as well as memorial scholarships requiring specific qualifications or interests such as agriculture or education fields. Mrs. Amber is available for further information regarding applications and scheduling meetings about next year’s courses over the coming weeks.

The district also provided lunch menus for the week of April 13-17 along with athletic event dates including softball (SB) and baseball (BB) games against various schools.
