The Piggott School District released a series of announcements on April 17, outlining important deadlines, activities, and opportunities for students. The update covers matters such as permission slips, scholarship applications, prom requirements, meal menus, sports schedules, and volunteer options.

The information is significant for students and families as it provides key dates and instructions needed to participate in school events or apply for scholarships. Timely attention to these details ensures that students do not miss out on academic or extracurricular opportunities.

Senior High FBLA members eligible to attend Six Flags must return their permission slips along with any owed money by the end of the day. “There will not be any exceptions as tickets will be ordered Friday after school,” the announcement said. Additionally, AGRI will meet with eighth graders during activity period in the cafeteria.

Students interested in concurrent college classes who have not participated before are instructed to see Mrs. Amber for a referral form. Ninth and tenth graders who took the PreACT can pick up their score reports at the library between classes or during advisory periods.

Several scholarship applications are available through Mrs. Amber’s office with varying eligibility criteria and deadlines ranging from April 17 to May 1. For example, applicants for the Clay County Farm Bureau Scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be related to an active member; other scholarships include preferences based on field of study or family background.

Other reminders include yearbook order deadlines (April 23), prom dues payments due by April 17, community service opportunities at Little League games or through summer programs, ACT registration deadlines (May 8), bus rules regarding cell phone use, cheer tryout sign-ups in the office, procedures for classroom visits during class time, after-school pickup protocols respecting neighboring businesses’ parking lots, instructions on checking grades online via HAC system settings changes,
and various lunch menu items throughout the week.
