The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced overnight closures on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Highway 62) in Fayetteville over Interstate 49 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly on March 16 through March 19, weather permitting.

The closures are necessary to allow crews to erect structural steel for the new southbound Interstate bridge over Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

A signed detour will be in place during the closure period. Westbound traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be detoured onto I-49 north to Wedington Drive (Exit 64), then use Wedington Drive to return to I-49 south and take Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 62) westbound. Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto I-49 south to Cato Springs Road (Exit 60), then use Cato Springs Road to return to I-49 north and take Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 62) eastbound.

Additional travel information is available at IDriveArkansas.com, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
