An overnight closure is scheduled on Highway 229 north of Interstate 30 in Saline County from the Frontage Road on the westbound side of the interstate to W. Jackman Trail from 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 27 through 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, according to a March 25 announcement by the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
The closure will allow contractors working on the new Buc-ee’s Travel Center to install drainage crossings at the planned location, weather permitting.
A signed detour will be in place during the closure. To reach the north side of the closure, traffic will take I-30 east to Exit 116 (Sevier Street/South Street) to Highway 229. To reach the south side of the closure, traffic will take Highway 229 to I-30 west to Exit 114 (Highway 67/Highway 229) to Highway 229.
Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be used to notify motorists about closures and detour routes.
Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov, according to the official roster page at the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
