Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), appeared on “The Dave Elswick Show” to discuss the implications of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for small businesses. The discussion centered on how the Small Business Deduction could impact business owners in Arkansas and nationwide.

Brabant highlighted the potential consequences if the bill does not pass, stating, “If the One Big Beautiful Bill doesn’t pass, at the end of the year, we’re looking at $4.5 trillion in tax increases. One of the largest tax increases in history. And tax increases on about 33 million small business owners, if Congress doesn’t get this passed and they don’t do anything this year.”

He further explained that “The One Big Beautiful Bill does extend the Small Business Deduction and make it permanent. Not only does it do that, but it increases the size of the deduction from 20 percent to 23 percent. So Congress is very purposefully giving a boost to small businesses.”
