A Madison County resident has claimed a $50,000 prize from the Oct. 13 Powerball drawing. Glenda L. purchased her winning ticket at Kings River County Store in Huntsville while running errands. After buying two Quick Pick Powerball tickets, she was locked out of her car but was assisted by a friend.

The day after the drawing, Glenda checked her tickets and discovered she had matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball number. “I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming,” Glenda told lottery officials. She shared the news with her husband, saying, “I think I won $50,000!” Glenda has not yet decided how she will use her winnings but plans to continue playing lottery games.

The Powerball jackpot for tonight’s drawing stands at $320 million. The Natural State Jackpot (NSJ), an Arkansas-only draw game, has reached $420,000 for tonight’s draw. NSJ drawings are held daily at 8 p.m., and players must match all five numbers to win the jackpot. After a win, the jackpot resets to $50,000 and increases by $5,000 per draw until it reaches $100,000, then by $10,000 for each subsequent draw. Tickets for NSJ cost $1 and sales close at 7:59 p.m.

Tickets for Powerball and NSJ can be purchased at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and through Play on the Go partners. More information about purchasing options is available on the Where To Play page of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery website.

Since its inception in 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has generated over $8 billion in sales and provided more than $1.5 billion for scholarships to Arkansas students. Over 822,000 scholarships have been awarded through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The lottery has also distributed more than $5.5 billion in prizes to players and contributed over $462 million in retailer commissions and more than $188 million in state and federal tax revenue.
