The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced that the LOTTO jackpot for tonight’s drawing has reached $1.16 million. The game, which began in 2022, offers players within the state more opportunities to win larger prizes. Since its launch, nearly 1,000 winners have claimed prizes of over $500, with total payouts surpassing $10.5 million.

LOTTO drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 p.m., where six numbers between 1 and 40 are selected along with a Bonus Number. Players must match the first six numbers drawn to win the jackpot. If there is more than one winner, the prize is divided equally among them. Each ticket costs $2, and sales close at 8:59 p.m. on draw nights.

When someone wins the jackpot, it resets to $250,000 and increases with each drawing until it is won again.

Earlier this week, Evelyn G. from Mabelvale won a $200,000 prize playing the 777 instant game. She purchased her winning ticket at Mercado San Jose on Geyer Springs Road in Little Rock and claimed her prize on September 22.

Evelyn said she does not stick to any particular game when buying tickets during her regular grocery trips: “I usually just pick whatever looks good,” she said.

She described her reaction upon realizing she had won: “I couldn’t believe it! I said, ‘Really?’”

Evelyn has not yet shared news of her win with others and has not decided how she will use her winnings but intends to continue playing lottery games.

Two top prizes of $200,000 remain available in the 777 instant game.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has sold over $8 billion in tickets since its inception in 2009 and returned more than $1.5 billion for scholarships benefiting students across Arkansas. Over 822,000 college scholarships have been awarded through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The lottery has also paid out more than $5.5 billion in prizes and generated significant revenue for retailers as well as state and federal taxes.
