Little Rock men’s golf advanced to fourth place on April 18 before darkness suspended play during the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational at The Pfau Course in Bloomington, Indiana.

The Trojans finished the day at 17-over par through parts of two rounds. They trail co-leaders Kansas and Purdue, both at 3-over, and No. 13 Illinois at 8-over. Wisconsin follows in fifth place with a score of 19-over. Northwestern and Rutgers are tied for sixth at 20-over, while Ohio State is eighth with a score of 26-over. Maryland, Minnesota, and host Indiana share ninth place at 30-over.

Play was suspended due to darkness during the second round and will resume Sunday morning ahead of the final round. The Trojans overcame rainy and windy conditions in the opening round but improved as weather conditions cleared later in the day.

“Tough morning round in rainy and windy conditions,” head coach Austin Eoff said. “Towards the end of round one the rain completely stopped and the conditions improved for round two. We got off to a really hot start and capitalized on numerous birdies and we were 8-under through about seven holes.

“We gave a few back, but the Pfau is an incredibly difficult golf course that doesn’t lend many birdie opportunities. Guys who played poorly this morning have done a solid job so far in round two of putting that behind them to rebound this afternoon to really help us climb up into fourth place.” Eoff said.

Mark Stockdale led Little Rock’s effort by finishing eighth overall at one over par after a strong stretch early in his second round. Ed Featherstone is currently ranked twenty-second overall at four over par, while Elliott Simonsen holds thirty-first position after shooting six over par so far. Viggo Talasmaki stands thirty-fourth with seven over par, while Rhett South completes Little Rock’s lineup in sixty-first place with eleven over par.

The Trojans are set to continue their second-round play Sunday morning before completing their final round.
