Plans to enhance Highway 71B in Fort Smith are progressing as the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) announces the availability of a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). This development follows approval from the Federal Highway Administration, allowing the project to advance. The initiative aims to improve drainage and pedestrian safety along a 3.8-mile stretch of Highway 71B, with upgrades including sidewalks, crosswalks, cross drains, and storm sewers.
