A portion of Highway 203 near East Camden in Calhoun County will be closed on April 20 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow crews to replace a pipe, according to an announcement released on April 17.

The closure affects the stretch of Highway 203 between Highway 274 and Highway 205. Officials say this temporary closure is necessary for infrastructure improvements and that weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

During the closure, only local traffic will be allowed access on Highway 203. Detours will be marked with signs directing northbound drivers onto Highway 274 east, then onto Highway 205 north back to Highway 203. Southbound drivers will take Highway 205 south to Highway 274 west before returning to the highway segment.

Construction barrels, barricades, and signage are set up along the route to inform motorists about the detour and ensure safety throughout the project period.

For additional travel information or updates about this closure, motorists can visit IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov.
