LITTLE ROCK – Attorney General Tim Griffin released the following statement after leading a multistate letter to the United States Department of Education opposing a proposed rule allowing biological males to play on female sports teams:

“The Biden Administration proposes to force schools to allow biological males to play girls’ sports. I led a 19-state coalition to fight back against this attack on states’ commonsense protections for girls’ sports. For more than 50 years Title IX has provided equal opportunities for female athletes, and I will not allow the Biden Administration to destroy those opportunities now. If the Biden administration decides to go forward with this ill-advised proposal, I look forward to defeating it in court.”
