A man from Eureka Springs has been sentenced to 196 months in federal prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for distributing child pornography. The sentencing took place in the U.S. District Court in Fayetteville with Judge Timothy L. Brooks presiding.
Court documents show that Seth Alexander Burns, 24, used a social media platform to distribute child pornography to several users. The case began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a CyberTip to a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) taskforce officer. During an interview with HSI task force officers, Burns admitted to creating multiple social media accounts to both distribute and receive child pornography, including files involving pre-pubescent children.
Burns was indicted by a Grand Jury in the Western District of Arkansas in November 2024 and pleaded guilty in February 2025.
U.S. Attorney Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas announced the sentence.
The investigation involved Homeland Security Investigations Fayetteville as well as police departments from Eureka Springs, Harrison, Springdale, Berryville, and Fayetteville.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Devon Still prosecuted the case.
The prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program coordinates federal, state, and local resources to find and prosecute those who exploit children online and to identify victims.
