The Central Arkansas track and field teams are scheduled to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, beginning Thursday at 9:30 a.m., and the Little Rock Invitational, starting Friday at 2 p.m., according to an April 15 announcement.

These meets follow a strong performance by the Bears at last weekend’s Arkansas Spring Invitational, where several athletes secured top-five finishes. Lydia Butler, Joy Nance, Abby Machesky, Byron Holt, Ky Bickford, Jeff King and Jaden Schneeberger all reached the podium for Central Arkansas.

Cole Hungate and Brenae Allen were recognized with Performer of the Week awards from the ASUN after their results at the meet. Hungate cleared 4.75 meters (15-07) in pole vaulting, which placed him first on this season’s ASUN performance list. Allen also took over as conference leader in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races. She ran an 11.47-second time in the 100 meters to finish sixth overall but leads her conference by two hundredths of a second; her fifth-place finish in the 200 meters came with a time of 23.68 seconds—one hundredth ahead of other ASUN competitors.

Live results for those interested will be available online during the Bryan Clay Invitational. The event will also be streamed on FloTrack.

As Central Arkansas continues its outdoor season schedule with these upcoming invitationals, athletes aim to build on recent successes while maintaining their positions atop conference leaderboards.
