The Central Arkansas softball team finished its weekend series at Eastern Kentucky University with one win, one loss, and one tie, according to an April 19 announcement. The Bears closed the series with a victory in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader and a tie in the second game due to a drop-dead time rule.

This outcome brings Central Arkansas to an overall record of 29-17-1 and an ASUN conference record of 11-5-1. The Sunday tie is only the second in program history, leaving Central Arkansas with a regular season mark of three wins, one loss, and one tie against EKU.

In the first game on Sunday, EKU took an early lead with a home run in the second inning. Central Arkansas responded in later innings as Addie Graham tied the score with an RBI single. After EKU scored five runs in their half of the fourth inning, Central Arkansas began narrowing the gap through walks and timely hits by Kaitlyn Graham and LJ Smith. In a dramatic seventh inning, Emma Robertson hit a two-run home run that gave her team a late lead. Freshman Jaleigh White secured her first ASUN conference win after returning from injury.

The final game saw Addie Graham start strong for Central Arkansas with her fifth home run of the season. Lilly Hood added two more runs for the Bears before Emma Robertson hit another late-inning home run to make it 5-1. However, EKU rallied for four runs in their final at-bat to force a tie as time expired.

Central Arkansas will return home next weekend for its last two regular season series against North Alabama during Alumni Weekend.
