Two Central Arkansas athletes were recognized as ASUN performers of the week, according to an April 15 announcement from the university. Cole Hungate was named men’s Field Performer of the Week, while Brenae Allen earned women’s Track Performer of the Week honors.

The recognition highlights achievements by both athletes at the recent Arkansas Spring Invitational. Hungate cleared 4.75 meters (15-07) in the pole vault event, which currently stands as the top mark in the conference this season.

Allen moved to first place on the ASUN leaderboard in both sprint events after her performance at the same meet. She finished sixth in the 100-meter race with a time of 11.47 seconds, leading other conference competitors by two-hundredths of a second. In addition, Allen placed fifth in the 200-meter race with a time of 23.68 seconds, edging out her nearest competitor by one-hundredth of a second.

The Bears are scheduled to compete again this week at two meets: they will participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday and then travel to compete at the Little Rock Invitational on Friday.

These weekly honors reflect continued strong performances from Central Arkansas track and field athletes during this part of their outdoor season.
