A Bryant resident, Clinton Keever, has claimed a $100,000 prize from the September 3 Powerball drawing in Arkansas. The winning ticket was purchased at S & A Gas and Groceries on South Reynolds Road in Bryant. Keever matched four out of five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number using a Quick Pick ticket, securing a base prize of $50,000 that doubled to $100,000 with the Power Play multiplier.

Keever and his wife are regular lottery players but use different strategies. While his wife often plays both Powerball and scratch-off games, Keever tends to wait for larger jackpots before participating. With the current Powerball jackpot exceeding $1 billion, he decided to buy three tickets for this draw.

On the night of the drawing, Keever’s wife checked her numbers without success before calling him to check his own tickets. Upon discovering they had matched enough numbers for a significant win, she told lottery officials: “We were so excited we couldn’t sleep. Everything inside is shaking like crazy.”

Keever said he plans to purchase a new car with his winnings but remains hopeful about winning an even larger jackpot in future drawings.

The upcoming Saturday night Powerball jackpot stands at $1.7 billion, making it one of the largest in U.S. history. The LOTTO jackpot will also be drawn Saturday night with a value of $1.015 million.

Powerball and LOTTO tickets can be purchased at licensed Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) retailers or through Play on the Go partners’ retailer apps. More information about these options is available on ASL’s Where To Play page at https://myarkansaslottery.com/where-to-play.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has generated over $8 billion in sales since 2009 and returned more than $1.5 billion for scholarships benefiting students across Arkansas. More than 822,000 college scholarships have been awarded by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education using these funds.

“Clinton, I think you won!” Clinton’s wife announced upon realizing their win.

“We were so excited we couldn’t sleep,” Clinton’s wife told lottery officials. “Everything inside is shaking like crazy.”
