U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) has joined a bipartisan resolution condemning the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks by Hamas that resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of Israelis and dozens of Americans. The resolution is led by Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and John Fetterman (D-PA).
The measure reiterates strong U.S. support for Israel and calls for the safe release of all hostages, including American citizens Omer Neutra and Itay Chen. It also denounces the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war, opposes rising antisemitic protests, and supports efforts to ensure Israel’s security while preventing Hamas from regaining any leadership position in the Middle East.
“The October 7th attack on Israel was a barbaric act that underscored Hamas’s commitment to terror and the destruction of the Jewish State,” Boozman said. “As we remember the victims and their loved ones, America stands firmly with our greatest friend in the Middle East and supports Israel’s unequivocal right to defend itself and protect its people. I remain committed to strengthening bipartisan efforts to ensure Israel has the resources necessary to safeguard its citizens and promote lasting peace in the region.”
The resolution is supported by Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) along with several other senators from both parties.
