A Benton resident has claimed a $250,000 prize from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. Jeremy Holleman won in the Play It Again Second-Chance drawing on May 22 with a non-winning $10 Triple Cash Payout instant ticket. Holleman initially doubted the news of his win, suspecting it might be a scam. However, confirmation from a local lottery retailer and congratulatory messages from friends convinced him otherwise.

Holleman plans to purchase a new truck with his winnings and intends to continue playing lottery games. The next Play It Again Second-Chance drawing is set for September 11, offering another $250,000 prize.

Meanwhile, an unclaimed Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at PDQ North in Russellville for the June 9 drawing. The winner matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball number. They have 180 days to claim their prize.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has contributed significantly to scholarships since its inception in 2009, selling over $7.9 billion and returning more than $1.4 billion for educational purposes.
